Remembrance Sunday is 8 November 2026. Last year Tonbridge's parade left the castle at 10.30am for the Memorial Gardens on Bradford Street. Every town's times.
Remembrance Sunday falls on Sunday 8 November in 2026, and Armistice Day is the Wednesday after, 11 November. Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council had not published the 2026 arrangements when we checked on 25 September; last year it did so on 29 October. What follows is the pattern of last year’s services in Tonbridge, Kings Hill, West Malling, Snodland and Aylesford, from the council’s own listing, and the diary date for when this year’s detail is due.
The quick answer
- Sunday 8 November 2026, with the national two-minute silence at 11am.
- Tonbridge, last year: assemble at Tonbridge Castle from 10am, parade leaves at 10.30am down Bank Street, along the High Street and into Bradford Street, for the service and wreath laying in the Memorial Gardens.
- Kings Hill 10.30am, West Malling 2.30pm, Snodland 2.30pm, Aylesford 3pm, all as last year. The council normally confirms the times in the last week of October.
Tonbridge
The Tonbridge service has followed the same route for years. In 2025 the council’s listing had people assembling at Tonbridge Castle between 10am and 10.30am, the parade leaving at 10.30am and processing down Bank Street, onto the High Street and into Bradford Street, and the service and commemoration in the Memorial Gardens. The Mayor, the Deputy Lieutenant and the town’s MP joined the wreath laying, followed by the two minutes’ silence and the Last Post (Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council, 29 October 2025).
The council’s standing line on traffic is that “local road closures may be in place for a short period to allow parades to pass through”. In practice that is the High Street and Bank Street for the length of the parade, mid-morning. Our parking page has the car parks either side of the High Street, and the roadworks and travel page will carry any formal closure notice once it is advertised.
On Armistice Day, Wednesday 11 November, the town marks the silence at 11am with a maroon and a short service at the town memorial by the Watergate, as it did in 2025.
Kings Hill, West Malling, Snodland and Aylesford
| Place | Assemble | Service | Where |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tonbridge | 10am to 10.30am, Tonbridge Castle | Parade 10.30am, then service | Memorial Gardens, Bradford Street |
| Kings Hill | 10am to 10.30am, Kings Hill Community Centre, 70 Gibson Drive | 10.30am, led by the Deputy Mayor | War memorial, Gibson Drive |
| West Malling | 2pm, saluting base north of the church, High Street | Mayor takes the salute 2.10pm; service 2.30pm (be seated by 2.15pm) | St Mary's Church, then the war memorial outside |
| Snodland | 2.15pm, Holmesdale School, Malling Road | Parade 2.30pm; service from 3pm | War memorial, Snodland Cemetery |
| Aylesford | 2.45pm, Mountbatten Pavilion | Parade and ceremony 3pm, led by the Deputy Mayor | Garden of Honour |
Those are the 2025 details from the council’s event listing and its news article. Snodland Town Council’s own events page, which we checked in early September, already carries its Remembrance Parade for Sunday 8 November 2026, so that one is confirmed for this year. The Aylesford Armistice Day service at the Royal British Legion Industries village Garden of Honour was at 10.50am on 11 November last year.
The afternoon timings in West Malling, Snodland and Aylesford are what let the Mayor and Deputy Mayor attend two services each; they are not likely to move.
The two-minute silence
The Royal British Legion observes the silence at 11am on Remembrance Sunday and again on Armistice Day, at the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month (Royal British Legion). Its poppy appeal runs through late October and early November.
Still to be confirmed
- The council’s 2026 listing, with the Tonbridge parade time and any change to the route: expected in the last week of October, based on 29 October last year.
- Kings Hill Town Council’s own arrangements: its events page listed nothing for November when we checked.
- Any formal road closure order for the High Street: none advertised as at 25 September.
The Christmas lights switch-on follows three weeks later, on Sunday 29 November, and is on our switch-on page.
