Tonbridge fireworks is Sunday 1 November: gates 5pm, display 6.30pm, £11 adult and £7 child until 23 October. Gates now include the swimming pool bridge.
Tonbridge’s annual fireworks display runs on Sunday 1 November 2026 at the Racecourse Sportsground in Tonbridge Park. Gates open at 5pm and the display starts at 6.30pm.
Updated 3 October: the booking page names the three entrances as New Wharf Road, the swimming pool bridge and Avebury Avenue, replacing the Lower Castle Field bridge the council removed in July. The Round Table’s own website has not caught up.
Tonbridge fireworks 2026: confirmed, and tickets are selling
The 2026 display is going ahead. We rechecked all three first-party sources on 30 September 2026 and they agree:
- the organiser, Tonbridge Round Table, headlines “Sunday 1st November 2026, Tonbridge Park” on tonbridgefireworks.co.uk, gates 5pm, display 6.30pm, with advance prices of £11 an adult and £7 a child
- its Live It booking page is open and selling for the same date, with a Halloween themed show by Phoenix Fireworks
- Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council’s event listing gives 1 November 2026, 17:00 to 19:30
Nobody has announced a cancellation. The only published contingency is the weather: if the night is called off, the display moves to Sunday 15 November 2026, same time and place (details below).
Note the date. Bonfire night itself is Thursday 5 November 2026 and Halloween is the Saturday before, on 31 October. Tonbridge’s display sits between the two, on the Sunday. The organisers have said this year’s show is Halloween themed.
The display is run by Tonbridge Round Table, which has staged it since 2012, and the fireworks are choreographed to music by Phoenix Fireworks. All proceeds go to local charities: the Round Table says it donated £20,000 from the 2025 display.
The timings
| Time | What happens |
|---|---|
| 5pm | Gates open, food stalls, bars and music |
| 6.30pm | Fireworks display begins |
| 7.30pm | Event ends |
The council’s event listing gives the window as 17:00 to 19:30, which matches the gates-and-display pattern the Round Table has used for several years.
Tickets are on sale, and the advance price ends on 23 October
Tickets went on sale for 2026 and the Live It booking page is live. Checked on 20 September 2026, these are the published prices, with the face price the Round Table advertises and the amount Live It actually charges at checkout:
| Ticket | Advertised | Charged at checkout |
|---|---|---|
| Adult, 16 and over | £11.00 | £12.10 |
| Child, 5 to 15 | £7.00 | £7.70 |
| Under 5 | Free, no ticket needed | Free |
| Essential Companion | Free | Free |
Every price is £1.50 cheaper than 2025, when an adult was £12.50 and a child £8.50.
Three conditions attached to those prices:
- The advance rate ends at midnight on Friday 23 October 2026 and prices rise after it. The organiser’s own page writes that deadline as “midnight 23rd October 2006”, which is a typo for 2026, not an extra year to book.
- Essential Companion tickets must be obtained in advance through the Access Card system and are not available at the gate. This replaces the 2025 arrangement, which let carers show DLA, PIP or ESA on arrival.
- A paying adult has to attend with every under-16, including the free under-fives.
You can still pay on the day, in cash or by card, but only at the Wharfdale Road gate. The Round Table caps capacity on site and says to book ahead to avoid disappointment.
One correction to the council’s listing. Tonbridge and Malling Borough Council’s event page still gives the price as “from £8.50”, which was the 2025 child rate. The 2026 rate from the organiser is £7.00 for a child, so the council’s figure is both stale and higher than what is actually being charged.
If it rains: the display moves to 15 November, it does not cancel
This is the answer the organiser buries in a booking-page FAQ rather than putting on its own website.
If the event cannot go ahead on Sunday 1 November 2026, for example through flooding or excessive wind or rain, it is postponed to Sunday 15 November 2026, same time and same location. Tickets carry over. If you cannot make the new date, or if 15 November is rained off too, the Round Table says it will either defer your tickets to the following year or refund them, and that refunds are only processed after 15 November and can take up to a month to reach your account.
So a cancelled night does not mean a quick refund. Budget for six weeks.
Optional refund protection through Booking Protect can be added at the point of booking, and is claimed through bookingprotect.com rather than from the Round Table.
Getting in, and the bridge that is no longer there
The Round Table opens three gates, where tickets are scanned, and staffs every other entrance to the Racecourse with security. Its 2026 booking page, checked on 3 October, names them as:
- New Wharf Road, next to the canoe club
- the swimming pool bridge
- Avebury Avenue, near Hendy’s Ford
The swimming pool bridge has replaced the old third gate at the Lower Castle Field car park bridge, although the Round Table’s own website still lists the old bridge. Go by the booking page. In July the borough council removed the pedestrian bridge linking Lower Castle Fields car park to the Racecourse Sportsground. It had been closed to the public earlier in the year after inspections found a corroded subframe and movement in the abutments, and it was lifted out by crane between 21 and 24 July 2026. No decision has been taken on replacing it.
The council’s own advice at the time was to use the alternative footbridge near Tonbridge Swimming Pool, and that is now the official gate. If you park at Lower Castle Field, walk round to the swimming pool bridge.
Gate sales in cash and card are at the Wharfdale Road gate, the booking page says. That name matches none of the three entrances it lists, so if you plan to pay on the day, ask a steward at whichever gate you reach.
Parking
There is no event car park. The Round Table’s line is that all the surrounding public car parks are available, that you should pay whatever is being charged when you arrive, and that you should not park on the residential streets around the park because it blocks access for emergency vehicles.
Two things to know before you drive in. First, the council car parks charge until 8pm, every day of the week, so a 5pm arrival still needs a ticket. Second, Lower Castle Field lost part of its capacity during the bridge removal.
| Car park | Bays | Up to 3 hours | Up to 6 hours |
|---|---|---|---|
| Lower Castle Field, The Slade TN9 1HR | 161 | £4.10 | £6.20 |
| Sovereign Way Mid, TN9 1RG | 112 | £4.10 | £6.20 |
Machines take coins from 10p upwards and give no change, and they do not take cards. Card payment is through RingGo instead: location 51192 for Lower Castle Field, 51188 for Sovereign Way Mid. Full tariffs, the free car parks and the season ticket rules are in our Tonbridge parking guide, and anything shut on the night will show up on the roadworks and travel page.
No temporary traffic order for the display had been advertised on the Public Notice Portal as at 5 September 2026.
What is allowed on site
The Round Table lists food and drink concessions, licensed bars “at pub prices”, LED toy stalls, music, first aid, a lost persons tent, toilets and an accessible viewing area.
Sparklers and drones are banned, and you cannot bring your own alcohol in.
Three more site rules from the booking page. Sparklers, fireworks and drones are all strictly banned, not just sparklers. There is no cash machine on site, though every catering outlet has been asked to take cash and card. And there is no parking inside the Racecourse sports grounds at any time, event or not.
The other display in the borough
Snodland runs its own free display on Wednesday 4 November 2026 at Potyns Sportsground, with the fireworks starting at 7.30pm. Snodland Town Council organises it, brings in a funfair, and asks for donations on the way in or out rather than charging. It says road closures will be in place and that details will follow.
That is the whole picture for the borough on published sources. Nothing has been advertised for Tonbridge itself on 5 November, and no other Tonbridge and Malling display has a 2026 date on a first-party page.
There is a second lot of fireworks in Tonbridge four weeks later. The Rotary Christmas Festival ends with a low-noise display over the castle on Sunday 29 November.
Nearby fireworks displays in 2026
If 1 November does not suit, these are the nearest displays with a 2026 date on the organiser’s own website, checked on 30 September 2026:
| Display | Date | Times | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tonbridge, Racecourse Sportsground | Sunday 1 November | Gates 5pm, fireworks 6.30pm | £11 adult, £7 child in advance |
| Snodland, Potyns Sportsground | Wednesday 4 November | Fireworks 7.30pm | Free, donations welcome |
| Tunbridge Wells, Dunorlan Park | Saturday 7 November | From 5.30pm, fireworks 7pm | £11 adult, £7 child in advance |
| Edenbridge Bonfire, town centre | Saturday 7 November | Procession 6.30pm, fireworks 8.30pm | See the society’s ticket page |
Dunorlan Park in Tunbridge Wells is the closest alternative, about five miles away. This year it is a movie themed pyro-musical, an 18 minute show by Wizards Fireworks that starts at 7pm, with family tickets at £24 and £30 and advance prices until midnight on Friday 30 October (Dunorlan Fireworks).
Edenbridge Bonfire is the big traditional one: a torch-lit carnival procession through the town at 6.30pm, two 11m effigies and fireworks from 8.30pm, with the road closed from 6pm to 10pm (Edenbridge Bonfire Society).
Still to be confirmed
- This year’s charities. The Round Table’s charities page has not been updated.
- Snodland’s road closures.
- A temporary traffic order for the display. Nothing had been advertised on the Public Notice Portal as at 5 September 2026.
Settled since this page was first written: ticket prices and the on-sale date, which are above.
